May 4, 2012:  Mass excavation continues at the south side of the site bringing the elevation down to the top of the footings.  Concrete operations continue as the concrete crew continues to build forms, install rebar and pour columns and walls at the North Building. The elevated slab which will be the second level of the parking garage at the North building will be poured this week.  Similar operations continue at the South Building. As part of the ongoing operations the concrete and excavation crews will compact the ground around the building footings. There may be some slight vibrations from these activities. 

The concrete operations will continue until the end of June. Once concrete is complete, framing of the residential levels of the building above will commence. 

As previously mentioned, the sidewalk along Kedzie Street from Chicago Avenue to the alley to the East has been closed for most of the duration of the construction of the project due to its proximity to the adjacent work site.  It will be reopened around Spring of 2013.
